Legal
History is foundational to the strength of any legal issue, claim or case. We not only understand and embrace this reality but also have the experience to back it up. Our team has extensive experience planning and undertaking research to support all levels of civil litigation. We understand the civil litigation process and have an established record of delivering accurate, reliable and timely research deliverables.
Though we are able to support all sectors of litigation our key area of expertise falls within the boundaries of First Nations law. This includes, but is not limited to, specific claims, residential schools, and aboriginal rights and title. We not only understand the issues and complexities at play in the context of First Nations histories but know how to impart their relevance to the legal process. We are also proficient in working with Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) and Library and Archives Canada (LAC) to find the documents relevant to Canada’s First Nations.
Our far-reaching experience includes everything from small cases with several hundred documents to complex cases with thousands of documents. We also provide our clients with expertise in the design and maintenance of legal databases for the effective management of document collections. We not only find and analyse documents but ensure their proper management throughout the research process.
To date, our work for various clients in the context of First Nations law not only speaks for itself but has made us a leader in the field.
If History matters to your legal issue, claim or case, The History Group can provide the historical framework that you need.
